Weekly Tribes – Graffiti

Graffiti

Students write, draw/sketch responses.  Put students into groups.  Have as many blank charts as you have groups.  Have a different topic or question for each group.  Groups rotate so that each student has an opportunity to contribute to each chart.  Review agreements!  This is very important, since students will have the opportunity to ‘disrespect’ anothers’ work.

Graffiti is great for review, response to literature, brainstorming, and K-W-L.  Mix it up and have some chart topics predictable, and some a bit whimsical.

It might be a good idea to model first, with the entire class; then break into groups for the real thing.
