Weekly Tribes I used to Be, We used to Be…

I used to be…We used to be

It’s May and another school year is drawing to a close.  This is a great strategy, not only for reflection, but to keep posted and use to introduce to your new class next year.

I used long triangles for individual entries and big circles for group entries…put them together and you have something looking like suns.

Students wrote academic (I used to think math was awfully hard, but now I can solve three step equations), social (I used to make fun of certain people, but now I understand how put-downs are more than just words) and/or emotional (I used to be afraid, but now I have confidence in myself).

Let this one transpire over some time, rather than asking students to just crank out some statements.  Allow the individual statements to complete and then see what the groups come up with.
