Weekly Tribes – Jigsaw + Suggestion Circle

This is a fun and effective way to Jigsaw…combine it with a Suggestions Circle.

Here is a great way to use two strategies.

Start with a small group of four or five.

Students volunteer to represent the small group for each ‘suggestion circle’ Start with two suggestions circles.

When they get to the suggestions circle (in this case, questions about a story they are reading – literary devices), they are responsible for listening and writing down good ideas they hear and share in the circle.

Then they return to the small group and share what they have written down.

Everyone in the group participates in the learning!

Even better, students facilitate the suggestions circles!
