Weekly Tribes 2014-2015: “Marshmallow Game”

It’s that time of year…when students go into ‘party’ mode, with Christmas/Winter Break approaching. Why not make some fun thinking games, with plenty of reflective practice and team building included. This comes for a student in the Tribes Basic Online Course (BOC). Think of how you might vary the ingredients to include academic themes, as well as holiday flare.

Marshmallow Game
The task is simple: in eighteen minutes, teams must build the tallest free-standing structure out of 20 sticks of spaghetti, one yard of tape, one yard of string, and one marshmallow. The marshmallow needs to be on top.
