Weekly Tribes 2016: Two truths and a Lie – Math

This comes form Kathy, my former teacher partner and frequent contributor to ‘Weekly Tribes’.

Take one of those worksheets or a page of problems from your math book.  Assign partners (for this you may even want to put your skill level students together?!)

Divide the worksheet (cut it up) or divide the page so that each person has 3 problems.  Have each partner do 2 math problems correctly, and one incorrectly (2 truths and a lie).  Now the other partner has to determine which is incorrect, and why.

It can get loud, but you will likely be impressed with the conversations!
