We discussed how people have different strengths and areas of need in school, and sometimes we all need people to help us out. We also discussed how the cat watched the puppy to see if he could do it on his own before stepping in. This shows mutual respect because the cat didn’t assume the puppy couldn’t do it, but when the puppy really needed help she was there for him. “Be the cat” has become a saying in our class that stands for lifting each other up when we are struggling.
